LEED® Project

This new Army & Air Force Exchange Service project is a 167,100-SF single-story facility containing warehousing, retail, prep kitchen and food court with six food concepts.  These will include a Starbucks, tenant spaces, mall, optical shop, military clothing sales store, shops and pharmacy.  The project is be constructed on, and within, the existing Randolph AFB to serve military personnel from the region.  Thermal and other utilities are provided from a small local on-site central plant with water-cooled chillers, boilers, distribution air handling equipment and central controls.

 
EEI was hired to commission the following systems:

  • Gas-fired heating hot water boilers
  • Distribution piping and circulation pumps
  • Mechanical/HVAC/ventilation systems
  • Air-handling units, constant and variable volume
  • Variable air volume terminal units
  • Equipment sound control
  • System vibration isolation
  • Fire alarm system and smoke dampers
  • Building-related ventilation, exhaust
  • Kitchen ventilation systems
  • Exhaust fans
  • Direct digital control building automation systems
