Issaquah, Washington

Swedish Health Services is developing a full acute-care center on its Issaquah Highlands campus.  The project is being constructed in three components beginning concurrently with the Medical Office Building (MOB) and Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) opening July 2011 and the Hospital Component opening in July 2012.
The MOB will be an approximate 172,000-SF facility containing a cancer center, retail spaces, a woman’s center, outpatient pharmacy and physician office space. The MOB phase will also include a 131-stall parking structure and a 27,000-SF atrium connecting to the ACC/Hospital.
The ACC (Floors G-1) will be an approximate 120,000-SF facility containing outpatient and clinical functions, Ambulatory Surgery Center and Imaging and Emergency Departments.  Also included in this scope of work is the freestanding Central Utility Plant connected to the main facility via a utilidor.
The hospital component (Floors 2-4) will be approximately 230,000 SF for up to 175 ICU and acute care inpatient beds.
EEI Healthcare has been hired to provide design review and commissioning services for the project.  Systems to be commissioned include steam and hot water boilers, chillers, air handling systems, TrasVac linen and garbage transfer (pneumatic tube) system, fire alarm, medical gas and vacuum, low voltage electrical systems, and various communications systems (PA, nurse call, infant abduction alert system, etc.).
