EEI provided retro-commissioning services for the following US Air Force Bases (AFB): Grand Forks AFB in Emerado, ND; Scott AFB in St. Clair County, IL; and Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA.  EEI’s goal was to verify, through evaluation and testing, whether each identified facility was operating at optimal energy efficiency as expected for the type and age of the systems and facilities included in the study.  EEI technicians systematically investigated and made recommendations in order to improve and optimize each building’s Operation and Maintenance (O&M).  Our overall focus was to:  reduce energy waste; obtain energy cost savings; increase equipment life; improve indoor air quality; improve facility O&M; and identify existing problems.

Grand Forks AFB

EEI identified 83 potential facility improvement measures for implementation based on payback.  If implemented, the energy conservation measures will save the AFB $262,504 in energy dollars and 1.4 Million kWh in electricity per year.

Scott AFB

EEI identified 17 potential facility improvement measures for implementation based on payback.  If implemented, the energy conservation measures will save the AFB $284,559 in energy dollars and 2.4 Million kWh in electricity per year.

Travis AFB

EEI identified 45 potential facility improvement measures for implementation based on payback.  If implemented, the energy conservation measures will save the AFB $82,502 in energy dollars and 757,723 kWh in electricity per year.
