EEI Data was hired by Turner Facilities Management Solutions to commission the Microsoft Chicago Data Center – CH1 in Northlake, Illinois. The data center will house thousands of computer servers that process Internet activity and other network services. The second floor will consist of traditional raised-floor data centers served by more than 200 computer room air handling units, while the first floor will house up to 220 revolutionary shipping containers packed with servers.

EEI’s primary role was to perform installation inspections and conduct functional performance tests for mechanical equipment for this 42-megawatt facility.

EEI Data commissioned the following equipment in this fast-track multi-phase project:

  • Twelve 1,260-ton centrifugal chillers
  • Primary and secondary chilled water pumps
  • Chilled water thermal storage tanks

  • Condenser water pumps
  • Sewage ejector pumps
